So, I have a lot of catching up to do. I think it will take more than one post to fill in all that was missed. Please be patient and I will get it all done.
We decided to try a new adventure as a family. Back Country Backpacking. We live in a beautiful part of the country and feel we should take advantage of the opportunities available. So we all planned together and set off full of excitement and bravado! A long story made short is this, eight hours later and in the full dark we were back at the car! We miscalculated the time it would take to get to St Joseph lake and the water availability along the way. We did see the lake from a distance but rather than risk our family's safety we decided to cut our losses and head back. We are using the experience of this trip as a chance to learn and prepare and to try again next summer. We all had a great time together and memories to keep so I'll call the trip a success!
Brook spent a week at the BYU campus for AFY and a few weeks with extended family. She still talks about what she learned there and keeps in touch with new friends but I am glad to have her home.
Cole discovered the value of a dollar and a car window! Hopefully the lesson was well learned!
